The stamps were overprinted row by row using twelve subjects of the half fraction. these show slight deviations from each other. In this way they can be assigned to each of the six columns that the sheet consisted of. Varieties exist that are both listed and unlisted in cataloques.
A local cover bearing one ½ on ½ CA watermark stamp, paying the inland rate, postmarked Larnaca 29 June, 1882 with an arrival Nicosia stamp of 30 June. Additionally the stamp comes from column three of the sheet and shows the spur variety on the left 1 of the fraction.
A ½ piastre pre-paid postcard up rated with a small fraction half on half CA watermark overprint for the total 1 piastre rate to England, postmarked Larnaca 4 September 1882.
Four ½ piastre stamps on a cover postmarked Nikosia 18 December 1882 of the small fractions CA watermark, paying the two piastres rate for letters not exceeding ½oz. The stamps were intended for local use only but somehow this cover escaped he scrutiny and arrived at Liverpool on 27 December as the arrival back stamp suggests. On the back there is an additional intermediary stamp at Larnaca, the port of exit from Cyprus of 189 December like the cancellation on the stamps on the front of the cover. This is the only cover that has been recorded so far with four of the stamps, paying this rate.
